Conibear Trigger Question
« on: February 27, 2017, 11:29:22 AM »
Quick question for you all. Building my own traps and I am using a conibear trigger system with a guillotine style drop down door. Does the weight of the door provide enough tension on the dog for the system to work? Or will I need to figure out how to include more downward force?

I was recommended springs, but they are expensive and the trap seemed to fire just fine with the weight of the door.

It sounds like your okay the way it is.  I don't think you need anymore tension

Springs are cheap but on a gilly door if anything just add some weight to the door

Alright, I will play with it tonight. I am going to need to modify the trap design anyways so we will see.

But also the more weight the door is = more tension or force to trigger the cage
